A
Note from Marita Littauer
With
the 2003 program, you will notice a slightly
different emphasis. God has given me a new passion
to reach the "Gen X" women. These are the
twenty-five to thirty-five year old career women.
They may be married or single, they may be
Christians or not. But, their schedules and
lifestyles usually preclude regular church
attendance and they perceive that the typical
Christian women's program offers nothing for them.
Don't worry, I in no way intend to change the
program totally, nor would I ever want to abandon
the call God has placed on my heart to minister to
our core group of attendees. I just hope to
continue to make some graphic changes and some
additions to the program to make the SCWR more
attractive to this age group.
Several
of this years attendees have already sent me
information and ideas on this topic. I will
continue to do research and I'd appreciate any
insights you may have in reaching this group.
However, please remember, we unfortunately have to
operate the SCWR on a very limited budget, with the
other conferences we offer making up the difference
in the bottom line. Therefore, we are very limited
in what we can do. For example, one of the women in
attendance at the 2002 SCWR suggested that we
produce a video to reach this group. While this is
a great idea, we do not have any of the resources
to create such a product (including time), nor the
contacts to distribute it to the right groups. She
is in marketing. We discussed it and she may be
able to do it for us. I offered to help in any way
we can by providing information and text. I wrote
an essay to share with you how this interest has
developed. Click

I hope that you will understand and participate in
my vision.
