Greetings!
I hope you are as excited about being a part of the CLASSeminar as are all of us who serve on the CLASS staff. We each have had an opportunity to be a part of many CLASSeminars, and we know the value of the material being taught for improving communication skills for both the spoken and written word, for personal, business and ministry purposes. We have seen God use the environment at the CLASSeminar to touch peoples’ lives and give them new direction. This history gives us an added edge in our enthusiasm for the CLASSeminar. After three days at the Livermore CLASSeminar, August 18 - 20, 2008, I believe you too; will be glad you have had the opportunity to participate.

PROFESSIONAL TRACK
Each day everyone in the Professional Track will have an opportunity to give a brief presentation in a small group setting. Monday and Tuesday presentations will be spontaneous, and the Wednesday presentation will be assigned at the end of the day Tuesday.

Please remember to bring your Bible and a pen or pencil. You will be given a workbook at check-in on Monday morning.

If you have friends who are still wishing to attend, please ask them to call us at 800/433-6633. We will be able to accept a limited number of registrations at the door; however, we would appreciate it if those people would call CLASServices by August 11th so we will have enough supplies for them.

In addition to giving you all these details, I am writing today to encourage you to plan to get the most from your CLASSeminar experience. There are several items that are designed to prepare you for the three days at the CLASSeminar and assist us in meeting your needs. First, please take a few minutes now and fill out the brief Professional Track Survey. After completing the survey, please return it to our office as soon as possible. (if you have already sent in the Professional Track Survey from the web site, there is no need to send in a duplicate copy.) This will enable us to customize the program’s content to insure that it meets everyone’s needs and places you with the group leader most appropriate for your interests.

When you receive your registration packet, you will find a copy of the Wired That Way Assessment Tool. Please complete the profile and score it prior to attending the CLASSeminar. On Monday there will be a section on the Personalities and how they affect your communication style. Having completed the profile in advance will offer you a greater understanding of the subject as it is addressed. Please DO NOT return the profile to CLASServices, but it would be helpful for you to bring it to the seminar with you.

Four recordings are also provided in the registration packet to prepare you for some of the teaching at the CLASSeminar. The first recording is Florence’s testimony, Behind the Personality. Listening to this in advance will give you valuable background on Florence. The second recording is one by Marita, Personality Puzzle. In case you are not familiar with our teaching on the Personalities, this will give you a foundation for our teaching on communication styles on Monday. The third recording is Florence’s popular message entitled How Good People Get into Trouble. On Wednesday, there will be a section on Bible teaching, and she will use this presentation as an example. The final recording is Florence’s hallmark presentation, Silver Boxes. We will reference this presentation on Tuesday afternoon and it will be helpful to give you and encouraging mindset as you head into your small groups each day. These recordings are in a page that will allow you to insert them into the notebook you will receive at the CLASSeminar. Please listen to all four recordings prior to attending the CLASSeminar.

If you have a writing project you are currently working on, please bring it. The communication teachings will spark many new ides and directions for your work. The same holds true for any speaking promotional materials you may be working on. Members of the staff will be available and may be able to review it. Most of the staff members are active in their own personal speaking ministries. They will have samples of their promotional materials available and will be happy to help you in any way they can.

STAFF
Monday morning, our staff will be introducing themselves and sharing a little bit about their ministry and area of expertise. Plan to take some notes during that time. If one or two of the team sounds like the person you need to talk to, don’t be shy. Each staff member is happy to answer your specific questions during breaks and at meal times.

ATTIRE
Most people who attend the CLASSeminar dress in business casual or dressy sportswear. Most attendees prefer to dress professionally on the third day since your presentation will be more closely critiqued by the members of your small group and the group leader. If you get cold or hot easily, I suggest that you bring clothes with a removable jacket or sweater so you will be comfortable. In respect for our host location, we ask that you wear nothing too low, too high or too tight.

We suggest that you visit a weather web site such as www.weather.com and search by zip code 94551 to aid you in packing appropriate clothing.

ON-SITE RESOURCES
We will have a complete selection of Florence and Marita’s books available at the CLASSeminar, as well s books and CDs by the other staff members and additional supplies to equip you in your speaking and writing career.

CLASS COMMUNIQUE
If you have an e-mail address and want to receive the CLASS Communique, our monthly e-newsletter, simply go to the CLASServices, website at www.classervices.com and click on the designated link.

PAYMENT AND CANCELLATION
If you paid a deposit and have a balance due, the balance due must be paid before you arrive at the CLASSeminar. To receive a refund, cancellations must be received in writing 30 days in advance of the date of the CLASSeminar. You will then receive a refund less a $100 non-refundable deposit. Cancellations received less than 30 days in advance are eligible for transfer to another CLASServices event less a $50 transfer fee. Cancellations received 72 hours or less prior to the seminar are non-refundable, non-transferable.

CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS (CEU)
The CLASSeminar will qualify for CEUs with many seminaries, educational institutions, and professional associations. Because each organization’s requirements and forms are different, you will need to contact the organization from which you wish to obtain CEUs. If we can easily provide the information, we will not charge you additional fees. However, if the organization asks for information outside the norm, or the completion of documents, we will charge you an additional amount to cover the costs of generating the required documentation.

We are looking forward to seeing you at the CLASSeminar. It is going to be a great three days. Be sure to come well rested. If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact our office at 800 433-6633.

Blessings—
