The
Christian Leaders Authors & Speakers Seminar is
the cornerstone of everything we do. It is a
dynamic ministry and while the concept of a seminar
to train speakers may not sound "life changing," we
have found it to be one of the most exciting things
we do. Teaching people to share what God has done
in their lives more effectively, to teach Sunday
school with more power or to improve their
professional communication skills is highly
rewarding and spreads the gospel in geometric
proportions.
The
CLASSeminar offers three full days of instruction
from 9:00-6:00 which includes both teaching and
small group interaction. This allows each attendee
to give presentations and be critiqued. In addition
to Florence and Marita, we bring in a trained staff
of speakers and authors who are there to meet the
individual needs of those in attendance.
The
registration fee includes all teaching and practice
sessions as well as a complete course notebook,
book, lunch and individual consultation with the
staff, as needed. The registration fee for 2008 is
$450 per person. Alumni registration is $350.
Personal enrichment registration is $375 per
person. Registration fees are sent directly to
CLASS. We then pay for the printing of brochures
and their mailing to our list, the hotel, meals,
airfare and salaries of all the staff and, of
course, the lunches, books and notebooks. If you
are an experienced meeting planner you will
recognize what a bargain the CLASSeminar is.
Your
participation in sponsoring a CLASSeminar involves
what we call "soft costs" such as janitorial,
electrical and mailing. Because CLASSeminar alumni
know what is expected at a CLASSeminar, we ask that
the sponsor or co-sponsor be a CLASS grad. We ask
that a local committee be involved in the prayer
and promotion of the CLASSeminar. Additionally,
your local committee handles the organization of
the meals and breaks (CLASServices has a budget to
pay for the meals and snacks) and setting up the
small group rooms--one for every ten attendees on
the Professional Track. We will use these small
group rooms Monday and Tuesday afternoon between
about 4-6 p.m. and Wednesday about 11 a.m. -1 p.m.
Your local committee also identifies a nearby hotel
(within a 5-10 minute drive) that is safe and
reasonably priced. CLASS will block the rooms with
the hotel.
Because
half of the attendees will be arriving from coast
to coast, we try to hold the CLASSeminar in a
location that is within an hours drive from a
major airport.
Since
CLASSeminar operates on a very small margin, and
our goal is to have at least 100 to 125 attendees
at each seminar, we require full support of the
sponsoring organization of the event that would
include the mailing of brochures to your mailing
list and promotion at the various events. To insure
support, CLASS requires a refundable deposit of
$1000 upon agreement to sponsor a CLASSeminar. If
there are seventy-five fully paid attendees, the
deposit will be returned. If there are less people
in attendance, the deposit will be returned on a
sliding scale. However, when the seminar is larger
than one hundred the sponsoring organization
receives $15 for each fully paid professional track
registration more than one hundred. The smaller
seminars have an average of eighty people in
attendance and many have numbers as high as 200.
Whether attendance is high or low, CLASS is a
wonderful service to make available to your church
and community. The CLASSeminar allows your group to
make Marita Littauer and Florence Littauer and
their expertise in the field of speaking and
leadership available with a minimal financial
commitment.
As
an additional benefit to your church or
organization, CLASServices will provide to sponsors
their choice of either (1) two fully paid
Professional Track registrations (valued at a total
of approximately $900), or (2) one Personal
Enrichment registration for every ten fully paid
Professional Track registrations as of the early
registration deadline. For example, if there are
100 fully paid Professional Track registrations by
the 30-day early registration date, your group
would receive ten complimentary Personal Enrichment
registrations, with a total value of $3750. The
sponsors can give these complimentary registrations
to whomever they wish. Sometimes the sponsor will
give these complimentary registrations to Pastors
or assistant pastors, church personnel, Sunday
School teachers, speakers, writers, or others in
the community who are interested in developing
their communication skills. If the individuals who
receive these Personal Enrichment registrations
wish to upgrade to the Professional Track, they may
do so at $75 per person.
