Marita's
personal and professional obligations restrict the
number of speaking opportunities she is able to
fulfill. If your needs match up to her
availability, she'd be delighted to address your
group on the following topics:
Wired
That Way
Have you ever noticed that there are people in
the world who are different from you? Perhaps you
live with those different people or work with them.
While you can't change them-even though you may
have tried-you can change the way you approach
them. You can learn to meet their needs and improve
relationships as you understand how they are wired.
In this session, based on Marita's bestseller
Wired
That Way,
you will learn to identify how the different people
in your life are wired by observing clothing,
mannerisms and personal space. You will learn about
the Popular Sanguine-the sunny yellow happy face;
the Perfect Melancholy-deep and thoughtful, blue
like an ocean; the Powerful Choleric-the hot wire,
represented by red; and the Peaceful Phlegmatic-a
calming presence like lush green grass. Once you
know how your coworkers, spouse, family and friends
are wired, you can begin to adjust your
expectations and ultimately see almost overnight
improvements in relationships as you learn to meet
the emotional needs of others. While the emphasis
of this session is to help you identify the
Personality of others, you will also gain insights
into how you are wired along with tools for growth
so you can live in your strengths, not wallow in
your weaknesses. Applying this information to your
personal and/or professional life will allow you to
make the connection that will turn on the light in
all your relationships!
This
session is excellent as a half- or full-day seminar
and is appropriate for both church and business
groups. 1½ - 4 hours.
Your
Spiritual Personality
Using the well-known foundation of
The
Personalities,
Marita will help you understand that God makes each
person with a specific personality that plays a
powerful role in building a relationship with the
Lord. The ways of approaching God are as diverse as
the personalities of the seekers. You will not only
gain a greater understanding of how you can
personally grow closer to God, but how you can
accept the spiritual styles of others. Based on
Marita's book Your
Spiritual
Personality,
this message will bring freedom to those who feel
trapped by guilt when the typically touted approach
to quiet time doesn't work for them.
Especially
good as a single presentation, such as a luncheon
or banquet speech, or as a powerful closing for a
conference on The Personalities. This session is
only appropriate for Christian audiences. 60-90
minutes.
Talking
So People Will Listen
All of us talk. Even if you are in a position
where you can make people be quiet when you speak,
you can't make them listen. However, what you can
do is adjust your approach to them so you make it
easier for them to really hear you! In this
fast-paced and entertaining session based on
chapters from her book, Communication
Plus,
Marita will help you identify your personal
communication style and that of those with whom you
live and work. Once you know your style, you can
work to improve your areas of weakness. As you
recognize the communication style of others, you
can adjust your approach to suit them. Whether you
talk to employees, a boss, family members or
friends, you can talk so people will
listen!
This
session is applicable to all audiences and works
especially well for both church and business groups
as a keynote presentation, a workshop or spouse
program. It can also be presented as a portion of a
larger program on The Personalities. 60-90
minutes.
Celebrate
Being a Woman Today
Have you ever listened to your mother or
grandmother talk about their youth and thought
about how blessed you are to be a woman today
instead of yesteryear? In your life today, have you
ever felt that you were treated unfairly because
you were a woman? Through the filter of Philippians
4:8, you will look at the things that are good and
true to discover that this is the best time in the
history of the world to be a woman. Based on her
book, You've
Got What It
Takes,
Marita combines words and wisdom from God,
successful women, and her own vast experience to
give direction to women longing for purpose and
balance in their lives. You can find more success
in who you are and more joy in getting where you
are going!
This
session is designed as a ladies outreach luncheon
or banquet presentation or as an inspiring closing
for a women's conference. This session is only
appropriate for Christian audiences. 50-70
minutes.
The
Praying Wives Club
Would you like to improve your marriage? Would it
be nice if you grew closer to God and your
girlfriends? If your answer is "Yes!" then the
Praying Wives Club is for you. Based on Marita's
book The
Praying Wives
Club,
you can listen and learn as Marita shares about the
benefits of regularly gathering together with a
couple of friends to praying for your husbands and
marriages, and how to put together your own
"praying wives club." Whether or not your marriage
is in a tough place, prayer could probably improve
it-and praying with friends gives accountability
and support.
This
session is designed as a ladies outreach luncheon
or banquet presentation or for weeknight church
women's events. For events in New Mexico, Marita
can be joined by her co-author Dianne Anderson.
This session is only appropriate for Christian
audiences. 50-70 minutes.
Putting
Power in Your Presentation
"Does it ever become fun?" "Is there ever a time
when you quit being nervous?" These are some of the
most frequently asked questions when people find
out that Marita teaches public speaking. The answer
is "YES!" In this session, based on a chapter from
her book Communication
Plus,
Marita shares the five "P"s of Putting Power in
Your Presentation. You will learn to find your
areas of Passion and capture that motivation in
your presentation and to Prepare your speech rather
than write it, allowing for flexibility while still
communicating your message effectively. You will
understand the value of incorporating Personal
examples and Practice so you can Put it all
together with Power!
This
session is an excellent workshop at a convention or
a special seminar within a corporate or women's
ministry environment. 60-90 minutes.
What
Do You Do?
How many times have you been asked that? As a
business owner/entrepreneur you probably opened
your business because you have a passion for your
product or service. But what about growth? Should
you add services or leap into new ventures? In this
session, Marita will start by addressing mission
statements and how to use yours to guide your
future business decisions and then introduce "power
statements" as a valuable tool to communicate "what
you do" to the masses. Time permitting, Marita will
work with one or two members of the audience to
help them craft a power statement for their
business. Next time someone asks you, "What do you
do?" be prepared to grab their attention, ignite
curiosity and be unforgettable!
This
session is perfect as a luncheon/dinner or workshop
presentation for professional groups or writers
conferences. 50-70 minutes.
