A survivor of a traumatic divorce with three young children, rejection and abandonment by her church family, a 17-year eating disorder, and the trials and challenges of parenthood, Barbara has personally learned the transforming power of a vibrant and personal relationship with Christ. Though she accepted Christ as her Savior at the age of 14, she had always been taught to be afraid of God, rather than truly embrace His amazing love for her. Years later—broken, alone and desperate for joy—she finally surrendered to the love and grace of Jesus and began claiming His promises for her life. God changed her heart and that of her former husband and ultimately restored their family. They remarried and although rocky at first, today, they enjoy a beautiful, Christ-centered marriage, praising God for their second chance at life together. A
Dutch native, Barbara T. Marshall came to America
as a nanny when she was 19. She has been serving as
an international Christian speaker since 1993.
Known for her energetic, dynamic, compelling and
passionate style, Barbara’s messages reach
right to the heart and move her listeners to a
deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. She has a unique ability to reach diverse groups of people, having been a popular choice for women’s groups and conferences, Sunday morning services, couples and youth groups. Barbara was a teacher in her local juvenile hall ministry for nine years, and has also trained hundreds of women (and men!) during her twelve year tenure as a Body & Soul Aerobics® instructor. She and her husband, Ken have had the privilege of leading several Bible studies for couples as well as serving as lay marriage counselors at their local church. Ken and "Barbie" live on Lover’s Lane (really!) and enjoy their adult children and grandson. Barbara’s active speaking ministry centers around Biblical truths that foster a relationship with Christ, by focusing on her life applications of the Bible.
