The
Faith of America's First Ladies
Jane Hampton Cook's book, The Faith of
America's First Ladies (Living Ink Books, March
2006), encourages women to discover their worth
through the message that every woman is the first
lady of God's heart. Based on the first lady of
Proverbs 31 and inspiration from many of America's
first ladies, Jane uncovers Biblical principles for
several areas of life: work, family, beauty,
leadership, service, laughter, and faith. Jane
tailors her presentations to the needs of the
event, such as focusing on principles for family
life for mother's groups, leadership and image for
professional women's groups or a combination of
topics for general audiences.
The
Work of Your Hands: Grasping God's Portfolio for
You
What work has God given you to do? Are you torn
between your home and the marketplace? Jane reveals
three Proverbs 31 principles for work: eagerness,
entrepreneurship and excellence. She illustrates
these principles by showing how first ladies, such
as Abigail Adams, Helen Taft and Edith Roosevelt,
approached the work of their hands. You'll find
inspiration in discovering God's portfolio for you.
Homeland
Security and Scarlet Coats: Wrapping Your Heart in
God's Truth
The first lady of Proverbs 31 could have traded
with the best on Wall Street. Her real-estate savvy
would have made Donald Trump say, "You're hired."
She was also a model citizen for homeland security,
prepared by wearing a scarlet coat and grasping an
emergency kit. Through the remarkable courage of
First Ladies Dolley Madison and Louisa Adams during
a crisis, Jane reveals how truthful Biblical
thinking can enhance your ordinary decisions and
equip you for extraordinary circumstances.
