Lessie
Harvey
Standing
firm on the foundation of God's Word -- Reaching
across cultural boundaries with prayer, hope and
encouragement.
|
"He
has made every nation
and the
boundaries within which to live. He has
done this so that they would look for God,
somehow reach for him, and find him. In
fact, he is never far from any one of us."
... Acts 17:26-27

"Dynamic!"
"Vibrant!" "Delightful!" "Engaging!"
"Bold!"
This
is how people respond to Lessie Harvey and the
message of joy and hope that she brings. Her clear
and relaxed presentations allow others to hear and
understand God's truth in new and personal ways and
- no matter the topic - to take away practical
truths that they can immediately apply in their own
lives.
Since
her conversion in 1980, Lessie has devoted herself
to the study of God's Word. She has worked to gain
insight into Biblical principles, to apply these
principles to her own life, and to share them with
others who, like her, seek hope and encouragement
through God's Word. Having begun her ministry by
teaching God's Word locally, Lessie now offers her
wise and down-to-earth messages to you and your
congregation, retreat, or conference, anywhere in
the world.
A
native Texan, Lessie holds a Master of Education
degree from the University of Houston. She has
studied with Precepts Ministries and The
College
of Biblical Studies (also in Houston). In 1985, she
enrolled in Bible Study Fellowship (BSF)
International and is now a trained BSF teaching
leader. In addition to her active involvement in
BSF, which continues to this day, Lessie has taught
Sunday school and led Bible studies through several
churches in Columbia, Maryland, where she has lived
since 1990. Committed to her local church, she also
travels to nearby Washington, DC weekly, to join
other Christians in praying for our nation and the
world.
Lessie
and her husband, Jesse, have been together since
1974 and are now young "empty nesters." While their
three children were growing up, Lessie volunteered
in their schools and with the many community and
sports organizations in which they and their
friends were involved. In each of these
environments, she cultivated opportunities to share
God's love with students, teachers, and community
members - as well as to train her children "in the
way they should go." Now that her children are
grown, Lessie continues to comfort, challenge, and
inspire others through her speaking and writing
ministries, equipping them to meet life's
challenges with an unshakable faith in the
Lord.
Presentation
Topics
What's
Your Weather Forecast?
Bright and sunny, cloudy or partly cloudy,
rain, thunderstorms, snow, sleet, or ice - at some
point in our lives, we experience different
"weather patterns." Lessie shares how God is still
in control-regardless of the storms, problems, and
adverse circumstances you may encounter. Come let
Lessie share with you how to keep your focus on
God, no matter what is happening in your life.
(30-60 minutes)
Loving
Yourself as You Were Created
Dissatisfied with the way God created you? You
are not alone. Contentment and true love start with
loving yourself. Lessie will share how God has
taught her to love herself. You will discover that
God did not make a mistake when He created you. You
and you alone can serve the purpose for which you
were created. (30-60 minutes)
Submission
is not a Four-Letter Word!
Expectations! Everyone has them, but what
happens when others' expectations are not in
agreement with yours? Lessie will share her defeats
and victories while learning to submit to God's
plan for her life. You will learn that God allows
struggles in your life to refine and strengthen
your relationship with Him. (30-60
minutes)
But
Lord, I Don't Want to Do That!
Have you ever wondered how Abraham could love
God enough to willingly sacrifice his only child?
Lessie has come to realize that developing a deep
commitment to obey the Lord has been a gradual
process-not an overnight miracle. Come hear how
life's circumstances have helped deepen Lessie's
commitment to and love for the Lord. (30-60
minutes)
Vessel
of Honor, Sanctified, Useful to the Master
Gold, silver, wood or clay - each can be a
vessel of honor or dishonor. Regardless of where
you are in your walk with God, you can be a vessel
of honor. Hear how Lessie learned the difference
between the two and which vessel she chooses to be.
Certified
Personality Trainer
Lessie has taught The
Personalities to students, young adults
and adults. All have benefited from the
knowledge gained from The Personality
Profile, especially in the areas of
communication, self-acceptance, and
understanding others.
