Venna
Bishop
Venna
Bishop is a speaker who brings spirit and purpose
into the workplace. With practical, proven
techniques and a refreshing vision, Venna
entertains and she inspires people to soar to
greater achievement.
Dr.
Robert H. Schuller lists his first television
interview with Venna as one of his most humorous
and embarrassing moments. Venna was gracefully
soaring above him as an "angel," but her "landing"
surprised both of them. It launched her speaking
career on the topic "It's Not How You Fly, It's How
You LAND!"©, which has become her most popular
program.

Glory
Stories - It's Not How You Fly, It's How
You LAND! was released November 2005
by Pos I Publishing.
Glory
Stories consists of witty, uplifting
narratives filled with joy and faith. In
this behind the scenes account of the
Glory of Christmas and Glory of Easter
pageants at the Crystal Cathedral in
Southern CA you will read about animal
antics, horse tales, and a peacock's
lifeless performance. You will be touched
by the on-stage epiphany of a child's
healing, a disciple's audition, and the
commitment of entire families. You will
chuckle at an innkeeper's compensation, a
child wranglers shortcomings, and an
angel's 'surprise landing' that launched a
speaking and writing career - "It's Not
How You Fly, It's How You
LAND!"

Venna's
messages provide down-to earth information for
achieving results. With the best of intentions,
many people begin projects that never seem to get
completed. Why? Because taking off is only half the
flight--the other half is knowing how to LAND.
Getting your dreams or goals off the ground is an
important step, but leaving them up in the air will
always keep them just out of reach. Venna works
with businesses who want to enrich the character
within their organizations and with teams of people
who want to achieve results. She delivers dynamic
programs which:
- Improve
attitudes
- Strengthen
character
- Create
vivid visual images
- Instill
patriotism
- Address
overcoming fears
- Cultivate
teamwork
- Encourage
change & taking risks

Venna
Bishop believes in living her religion--not just
having a philosophy about it! She knows her
character and strength comes from her faith.
Wherever she goes, her enthusiastic attitude and
zest for life are like a magnet attracting others.
She radiates energy and gives moral support to
everyone with whom she comes in contact. Venna
knows how to inspire others to work better in
teams...keep an optimistic attitude...enjoy
themselves and each other more often, as well as
seek and seize opportunities in their worship and
religious endeavors.
Her
commitment and dedication will inspire your group
to seek and pursue what God has planned for them.
Whether it is a singles or seniors meeting, a
women's or men's conference, or a family church
event, Venna keeps the excitement of accomplishment
alive with entertaining stories and heart rendering
messages that touch the soul.
Venna
feels challenges are God's way of keeping her on
track. She admits she doesn't always listen, but
when she does God's goodness unfolds. When her 25
year marriage collapsed and she lost her job, she
went to see the Glory of Christmas pageant at the
world famous Crystal Cathedral. She was so inspired
by the "flying angels," she decided to audition to
be one. Would a sane person commute 800 miles round
trip, several times a week over a six-month period
for rehearsals and performances, just for a
volunteer part? Venna did...for five consecutive
years! Her commitment led to a sales career and an
interview with Dr. Robert H. Schuller on the "Hour
of Power." (See article "Soaring on the Wings of a
Dream") Her angelic landing during the interview
resulted in unexpected surprise for both of them,
which launched her speaking career on the topic
It's Not How You Fly, It's How You
LAND!"©
Humor
helped her cope with a cancer challenge at the time
of the 1989 earthquake. Crutches provided a
metaphor as she dealt with numerous surgeries to
regain mobility and experienced God's healing
presence and the power of prayer.
As
a mother, Venna provided a spiritual environment
for her sons and encouraged them to accept and
undertake responsibility. They are goal directed,
task orientated and throughly enjoy what they do,
which she feels is her greatest accomplishment. She
was joined by her son, Col. Brian Bishop,
Commander/Leader of the United States Air Force
Thunderbird Flying Demonstration Team, when she was
asked to return as an interview guest on Pastor
Robert H. Schuller's global television
program.
Venna
is a contributing author to the book Getting
Along with Almost Anybody, an award winning
poet, and has published articles (one article had a
readership of 10 million.) She has been featured in
some of California's major newspapers, on radio
talk shows around the country and appeared in an
ABC-TV special "In Search of Angels." She is a
member of the National Speakers Association, and a
keynote presenter at fund raising events for the
American and Canadian Cancer Society, various
business women's conferences, as well as the
International Women's Conference on Possibility
Thinking.

Many
of Venna's messages are applicable for religious as
well as business audiences. In spiritual settings,
Venna is able to share more of her personal faith
as she interacts with her audience. She also
incorporates some Biblical texts as it relates to
the group or denomination she is addressing. It is
not uncommon for Venna to present a business
program in a location and have someone request her
to do another program for their church while she is
in the area.
Venna's
business topics, which are transferable for
spiritual audiences, are recommended for
conferences & retreats, banquets &
luncheons, fund raising or worship
services:
